[Preamble] [Welcome] [12 Steps] [12 Traditions] [12 Promises] [Characteristics]
  1. What is Orange County CoDA Intergroup? [By-Laws]

A: Orange County CoDA Incorporated (OC CoDA) is a non-profit organization comprised of CoDA members in the Orange County, California area. Our primary purpose is to be a conduit of information between each CoDA meeting group in Orange County area and Southern California Regional CoDA (SoCal). The organization is regulated by the CoDA 12 Traditions, the CoDA Service Handbook, its own bylaws, Robert's Rules of Parlimentary Procedures, and California State law. We do not govern CoDA meetings; we are trusted servents and volunteers.

Voting members of OC CoDA must be Board Members or meeting Group Service Representatives (GSR). There is one exception to this - during an Election Meeting any member of CoDA may vote in the elections. Election Meetings are held every June.

  2. What does OC CoDA Intergoup do?

A: All work is done by volunteers.
    • Relay information from and to the CoDA meeting groups in Orange County, SoCal Regional CoDA, and CoDA National (soon to be called CoDA Inc.). Information can include meeting notices, fellowship and conference notices, SoCal and National proceedings.
    • Send representative(s) to SoCal Regional meetings to report OC CoDA issues and report back SoCal Regional and National information.
    • Assist in starting up new meetings. Provide financial assistance to meeting groups that have low attendance or financial contraints.
    • Provide and maintain a phone mail box for people to retrieve meeting information and ask general questions about CoDA.
    • Provide and maintain a current list of meetings in the Orange County area.
    • Organize and sponsor fellowship events (Like the Comedy Event and OC Fair booth).
    • Provide and maintain this website.
    • Publish a by-monthly newsletter.
    • Coordinate and distribute CoDA conference approved literature, posters, and chips from CoRE.

  3. Where and when do they meet?

A: We meet quarterly, on the first Monday of March, June, September, and December. If that Monday is a holiday, or immediately follows a holiday, then we'll meet the following Monday. The location is:

Crystal CathedralFamily Life Center (FLC) Room 223

  4. I'm ready to work my 12th Step - how can I get involved?

There are many ways to get involved. You may offer to be the Group Service Representitive (GSR) for you home group; then start attending the OC CoDA monthly meetings as a GSR. Another option is show up at the OC CoDA monthly meeting and announce your desire to get involved. Ask your sponser about their service experience.
